The Colorado Springs Construction Industry is Growing
Careers in Construction is Working with Local Schools to Equip Students with In-Demand Skills in the Construction Industry
Although the Colorado housing and commercial industry are rapidly growing, our skilled workforce is struggling to keep up.
To help address this labor shortage and strengthen our local economy, the Housing & Builders Association and the Associated General Contractors-Colorado has implemented Careers in Construction, a workforce-development program, in area high schools to provide students the required education and training to enter a rewarding career in the construction industry.
Through the CIC program, we are providing an opportunity for the next generation to benefit from the growth of the local economy through access to in-demand career opportunities. Not only are we preparing students with the skills needed for these opportunities, but we are also connecting them with these opportunities through our Student Job Opportunities page. There, CIC students are able to directly apply for a local internship, apprenticeship, part-time and full-time job opportunities.
